iRead ("the app", "we", "us") is an offline e‑book reader with on‑device text‑to‑speech narration. We built iRead to keep your reading private: your books and reading activity stay on your device. This policy explains what we do and don't collect.
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, precise location, or the contents of the books and documents you read. Reading content is processed locally and is not transmitted to us.
iRead's optional "computer import" feature transfers files directly from a device on your own Wi‑Fi network to your phone. These files go straight to your device and are not uploaded to any server operated by us.
If you buy iRead Pro, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing or Apple In-App Purchase, and entitlement management is handled by RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment card details. To deliver and restore your purchase, RevenueCat processes purchase data such as the purchase token and transaction history, an app‑generated anonymous user identifier, and technical data such as IP address, device model, and OS version (used for fraud prevention and to keep your purchase in sync across your devices).
Learn more from our processors:
Neural voices are downloaded on demand from public model repositories and then run entirely offline on your device. Only the voice model files are downloaded — never your book content.
Because reading data lives on your device, uninstalling the app removes it. Purchase records held by Google and RevenueCat are retained per their policies. To request deletion of purchase data associated with your device, contact us at the email below.
iRead is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
